Street Legal Brake Line Kits
Pre assembled, direct bolt-on Street Legal Brake Line kits are ultimate in
braking performance. These brake lines meet
the strict guidelines of the D.O.T. MVSS-106 requirements for street driven vehicles
and are legal in all 50 states.
Street Legal Brake Line Kits feature stainless steel braided hose with zinc-plated
fittings, factory assembled for installation convenience. Replacement of original
equipment rubber lines with Street Legal stainless steel brake lines increases
braking performance and reduces brake pedal
travel due to the elimination of hose expansion common to factory rubber lines.
3 and 4 line kits are available for a wide range of performance vehicles: domestic,
import, sport utilities and trucks. Each kit comes with all necessary hardware and
fittings.
Goodridge Braided Stainless Steel Brake Lines
For more than 20 years, Goodridge has been supplying high performance hose and hose
fittings to the world's leading race teams. Goodridge stainless steel braided brake
lines have become the standard in professional motor sports where the ultimate in
braking is required.
Today Goodridge is a supplier to top teams
in Formula 1, CART, IRL, NASCAR and World Rally Competition. But equally important
is that Goodridge's ongoing research and development has allowed them to convert
the lessons they learned in competition into products available for serious streetcar
applications.
Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brake line
race-bred street brake lines are constructed from the finest quality hose, consisting
of a PTFE inner hose covered by braided stainless steel. In addition to providing
a more responsive and firm brake pedal by eliminating the "spongy" feel that often
accompanies stock rubber brake lines.
G-Stop High Performance Brake lines are
abrasion and corrosion resistant to stay good looking for a long time to come.
Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brake line Kits
are direct bolt-on replacements for all of the rubber brake lines in the vehicle's
brake system. (Three to six brake
lines are included in each kit depending on the vehicle's original design). To ensure
proper fit and easy installation, hose ends and brake line brackets that match the
vehicle's original equipment style are used for each application.
By conforming to all requirements of the Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standard Number
106, Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brake lines are U.S. Department of Transportation
certified and T.U.V. approved. All Goodridge G-Stop High Performance Brake lines
go through a 9-point Quality Assurance testing process that includes measuring tensile
strength and the ability to contain line pressure to 3,000 pounds per square inch.
Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Hoses
Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Hoses are
an inexpensive and easy-to-install upgrade to your braking system.
In any braking system there is flex - in the pedal, in the caliper,
but most of
the flex is in the brake hose. Every time you step on your brake pedal, up to 1500
pounds of pressure moves brake fluid from the master cylinder to the caliper. Most
of the way, the fluid moves through rigid steel brake lines.
Unfortunately, these steel brake lines cannot
complete the journey all the way to the caliper
because movement in the line is necessary to connect a non-moving part (the chassis)
to a moving part (the brake assembly as attached to the wheel). These connecting
brake hoses are made from rubber and nylon. Even with the nylon braiding inside
the hose, when that much pressure hits it, it will expand. This expansion, or flex,
weakens the braking system, as it is responsible for loss of energy meant for the
calipers.
In a Stainless Steel Braided Teflon Hose,
this flex is reduced dramatically. This means quicker pedal response and better
pedal feel.
